Africa’s stories. Africa’s context.

Pan African News Media is ACD’s development newsroom—built to report African progress, examine difficult questions, elevate credible voices, and connect stories to the systems shaping the continent and its global diaspora.

Why the Newsroom Exists

Africa deserves journalism that sees beyond crisis and spectacle.

Too much coverage of Africa is produced without sufficient African context, local knowledge, or attention to the people building solutions. Pan African News Media exists to widen that frame.

We cover development as lived reality: the work of communities, entrepreneurs, educators, public leaders, innovators, advocates, institutions, and diaspora partners. We ask what is changing, who is affected, what is working, and what must happen next.

Our purpose is not simply to publish more stories. It is to strengthen the quality of the African development conversation.

Editorial Standards

Credibility is the foundation of the newsroom.

Every contribution should strengthen public understanding, respect the people represented, and reflect the seriousness of Africa’s development story.

01

Accuracy

Facts, names, claims, context, and sources should be handled carefully and corrected responsibly when necessary.

02

African Context

Stories should reflect local realities and avoid reducing complex communities to stereotypes or outside assumptions.

03

Human Dignity

People are not props for a narrative. Coverage should preserve agency, privacy, nuance, and respect.

04

Public Value

Strong journalism should help audiences understand what happened, why it matters, and what questions remain.
