African Coalition for Development (“ACD,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to advancing Africa’s development through leadership, advocacy, youth engagement, partnerships, events, community programs, and development-focused initiatives.
This Donation Policy explains how donations, sponsorships, charitable contributions, recurring gifts, event support, and program support are processed, used, acknowledged, and managed by ACD.

1. Purpose of Donations

2. 501(c)(3) Nonprofit Status
ACD is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

If a sponsorship includes benefits, recognition, promotional placement, event access, or other goods or services, the tax-deductible portion may be limited. The IRS requires charities to provide disclosure for quid pro quo contributions over $75, where a donor receives goods or services in exchange for part of the contribution.
7. Donation Acknowledgments and Receipts
ACD may provide donation acknowledgments or receipts for donor records.
For charitable contributions of $250 or more, donors generally need a written acknowledgment from the charitable organization to claim a deduction. The acknowledgment should state whether any goods or services were provided in exchange for the contribution.

ACD plans to communicate with donors and supporters about our mission, programs, and fundraising needs. Where applicable, fundraising or marketing emails should include an unsubscribe option. 11. Restricted Donations
From time to time, a donor may wish to support a specific program, event, or initiative.
ACD may accept restricted donations only when the restriction is approved in writing by ACD and aligns with our mission, legal obligations, and operational capacity.
If a restricted purpose cannot be fulfilled, ACD may contact the donor where reasonable or may use the funds for a similar mission-aligned purpose, subject to applicable law and organizational policy.
12. Corporate and Foundation Giving
ACD may accept contributions from companies, foundations, institutions, and organizations.
